New House

Our very first home!!!! Here we are on possession day in May when we got the keys to our new home!
In all the craziness, I didn't get a single, no not even ONE, photo of the interior of our new home. I did save a word doc of the original photos from the listing, but they are tiny. Unfortunately, the following collage is about as good of a "before" shot of the various rooms in our house as we are going to get.

Our realtor (The Raines Group of HER/RealLiving-- we loved them and highly recommend them to anyone!) had a truck you can borrow to move for free, just pay gas. So we did our move over several days and just saved the big heavy stuff for the day our church congregations (old and new) could help heft things. Gwen thought the truck was great for dancing.

photos of our continual adaptations coming soon.... right now I've got to pay attention to some kiddos.

Gwen's Preschool Field Trip to the Farm... in May

If you noticed the posts I added today were all from May, perhaps you can deduce that I've successfully found my camera-computer cord. and thus begins the photo "catch up" phase. Today's updates are so far back in May that they might not interest YOU, but I love them anyway. So here they are. Stay tuned for just a couple photos of the move and our time with family!

Caroline's Favorite Toy in May

One of the last things we packed up, just so she could enjoy. Simple pleasures, I tell ya!

We

We didn't die. or go private. We just have been busy.

We moved. I don't think any explanation is needed for why that would keep us busy.

We took a 3 week trip to Idaho. Eric built a fish gate and Caroline still bites.

We (aka Eric) graduated from Medical School. The Allans came for the event. All the pomp and circumstance (and new house) create things to do.

We hosted friends from one location or another also transitioning their families.

We (aka Eric) started intern year at Riverside.

We have finished many, many projects around the house, including painting the shutters, building food storage shelves, shoe bench for the kiddos, desks, bookshelves, tv stands, and compost bins, hanging curtains, putting together shelves, planting vegetables, flowers, and edibles (including my first rhubarb!!! Sooooo excited!!! Hope I can keep it alive!)

We are settled, about 3/4 unpacked, including all the important things but minus 5 or 6 boxes in the garage that have unsorted stuff from EVERY room in the house (you know, those last ones that don't get packed up with any rhyme or reason and take about 30 piles each to organize the contents?)

We are walking... including Caroline, sort of.

and now, technically, I've got the time to blog about the almost 2 months of FULLNESS that we have enjoyed.... and I can't find my camera-computer cable to download the pictures I've taken through it all. Wouldn't you know.

I imagine when I find it, I'll just post a few highlights. Otherwise this would be the catch up post of the century! :P

wish me luck finding it. Who knows where....

Packing

We closed on our house yesterday! Today I resumed packing some more since I'm carless today and have plenty of time to devote to the task. I don't enjoy the clutter that inevitably accompanies packing up EVERYTHING you own, but I have to admit:

I love the process of sorting,
choosing what to keep and what to donate,
fitting everything like puzzles in boxes with 'like' contents,
and watching these stacks and stacks
and even more endless stacks of boxes piling up.

Something about it just soothes the lil ocd voice in me. Anyone else feel the same way? kinda funny that this would be kind of therapeutic. It has been a HUGE blessing to take our time this way since we are just moving across town rather than across the country.

Only a few more days and we'll start taking them to OUR new home! Looking something like this:
lol, j/k. We're borrowing our realtor's moving truck. Free, just pay gas. Couldn't ask for a better deal. :)
