Gwen's Strange Food Preferences

No posts for a while. There are reasons. I am trying very hard to only take on daily what I can successfully accomplish, lest I become overwhelmed and burdened rather than enjoying. I am winning! But that means fewer posts on the blog. You understand, I am sure.

I had to get this event down for posterity. It is evidence of Gwen's independence at the dinner table and her strange appetite:

One night last week Gwen refused mashed potatoes one dinner.
Then didn't want carrots (what?)
then shook her head and leaned away wimpering when I even offered a bite of cake (???)

guess what she wanted?

No, you'll never guess. So I'll just tell you.

Yup, lettuce with a dab of Asian Toasted Sesame dressing on it.
She ate an adult sized salad portion.
I can't account for her independent eating desires
or her taste preferences...
but she's healthy, I guess! No complaints there! :)

  1. Gwen is quite the cutie! Whitney's never enjoyed lettuce. Maybe they should hang out more often!

  2. How bizarre! My kids never liked lettuce before they got molars (or does Gwen have some already? Rebecca doesn't, but she has my slow teeth). Couldn't chew it at all.

  3. That's really funny, because I feel like you've been posting a lot lately! I guess it's all relative, right? I've posted I think once in the past three weeks. haha. :)

  4. i love it! that girl of yours is so strong willed! what a cute little personality! i still can't believe she didn't want cake... especially one of your cakes - mrs. gourmet! She'll learn. Just bring her to my house, then she'll really enjoy your cooking! Lately all we've had around here is... well actually, we haven't had much. no time to cook because i'm too busy staring at this baby!!! poor miche :)

  5. How funny! My kids won't touch lettuce with a 10 foot pole. I'm jealous. :)

  6. Haha, Gwen is so cute! By the way, I found the China video. I don't think I can publish it here, so I will put it on my blog. If you wanna see it go to I hope you have so much fun on your trip to China someday!
