Beauty Rest

Did I mention that Gwen is adorable when she is sleeping? No matter how she eventually ends up, she always starts out with her feet hanging out of the crib, cuddling that fuzzy giraffe "blankie". We love to check on her at night and see how she's arranged herself and the giraffe this time!

Sigh. Every time I see her like this, it is a baptism of renewed love, washing away any impurities of frustrations or stress in my heart. She is my angel. .... When she is asleep! :) (well, she's my angel all the time, I just, well, you know, sometimes I just get flustered and forget, and say things that make it sound like I feel differently when I don't, like right now I'm digging in deeper, but, oh well, you know what I mean.)

  1. Totally understand what you mean....and it reminds me of a quote I heard once about parents looking in on a sleeping child. One looks at the other and says, "Don't think of it as sleeping....think of it as recharging!"

  3. Totally understood. No matter how frustrated I get during the day with the little monsters they transform back into my sweet angels when they sleep. There's nothing like watching your sleeping children. I love that she already has a cute lovey too!

  4. I was amazed how quickly Rebecca took to her lovey (a baby-safe stuffed rabbit we call "Pinky")—a lot faster than Hayden did (his is a baby-safe stuffed monkey, Marty).

I've recently started making an effort to peek in on Rebecca for just this reason—after a long day, it's the sweet moment you need. (So they're not the only ones recharging in that moment ;) .)

When they're sleeping, they're our "peaceful" angels. How's that?

  6. You are brave taking a picture of your sleeping baby. When Whitney is asleep I don't dare go in there. One little click of the camera and she might pop those eyes WIDE open. Kudos to video monitors.
