When Will She Crawl? Cast Your VOTE!!!!

As you can see in this delightful video (she was kinda grumpy, sorry), in the past 24 hours, Gwen discovered how to get up on forearms and knees and is beginning to rock back and forth. She hasn't figured out how to do hands and knees yet and I don't think it has even occured to her that this might lead to another mode of transportation. She's just trying out new things. Well, everyone always says, and I quote, "It won't be long now!" or "She'll be crawling before you know it!"....

well, hmmm, how long will this really take? Take a stab at predicting when she'll ACTUALLY crawl! (make comments for posterity, if you like, since I plan to Blurb everything at the end of the year. But also take the poll on the right.)

(The winner(s) will get glory, laud, and honor, but only in blog-a-mania- world. Other than that, you'll just feel validated, I suppose. :))

  1. I'm betting you still have at least a few weeks/month before she is full on crawling. It seems to take my kids awhile to transfer the knowledge of getting up and rocking to any kind of forward movement, but it's quite possible my children are just slow learners. :) Either way I loved her cute "talking."

  2. I said a month, but I'm not sure it will take quite that long.

  3. Noah did the army crawl forever and then one day he just started crawling. Just like that!

  4. I don't have kids yet, but I said a week because I was thinking about the fact that many kids start to scoot before they actually crawl. So she'll probably be mobile before she's actually "crawling" even though I presonally have no idea how long it will take them to go from step 1 to step 2. Good luck! She's a cutie!

  5. My babies never scooted, just crawled, so it took Savanna a good 2 months after she started rocking before she could crawl. Maggie, however, (the little girl I babysit) started scooting before she could even get up on all 4s rocking. So mobility is anyone's guess. If she's gonna scoot, she'll probably pick it up soon. If not, it'll still probably be another month or two! :)

  6. I'm gonna go with 2-3 weeks. It seems like my kids did that for a while before they got going. She might make a little forward movement before that, but my (complete) guess is 2 or 3 weeks before she's completely crawling. haha, who knows though, I could never figure it out with my own kids.

  7. Hmm...maybe 3 weeks to a month? That seems about right. Kiffer sort of army-crawled at 6 months and REALLY crawled somewhere between 7-8 months.
